I am as well! You are if not the one and only best developer of accessible
software for piloting a plane! In real life simulation! Hope there are many
more like you to follow but in many cases that is not to say!

Hi there Robert
I'm very sorry to hear this; I was extremely far away from IYP community and
stopped contributing, So I was not aware of the events that have occurred to
you. I'm extremely sorry to hear about your wife, please accept my condolences.
I'd just like you to know that working with IYP and being able to use the
flight simulator was the 'most' brilliant moments of my life during the
passed 22 years that i've lived, and years to come in the future. If someone
asks me that what was the most exciting thing i've ever done in my life, I'd
say the moment i've found out about IYP and the fact that I could have it.
So where ever you are and whatever you're doing, I wish you and your family the
best and all the good things.
I'm also struggling with life; although I'm at my final stages of moving out of
the country, so I guess once I'm out of these terrifying moments I can get back
at IYP again and start supporting other blind users.
I'll be around and help visually impaired users to install fsx and IYP (Also
specially since i recently got the steam version, Ic an help with them as
well). I've released a podcast about IYP last year, I'll be doing another one
this year as well.

Hello Zack,
Earlier this year, my wife of 40-years finally lost her prolonged battle with
cancer. Contemporaneous with that life-altering travesty, our family was hit
with another devestating family disaster that instantly transmogrified my life
from that of a retired 74-year old enjoying life by assisting blind and
physically disabled individuals, into an old person with a full time job
tending to two young grandchildren.
Thus, all development of IYP regrettably needed to cease.
I continue to assist IYP users as well as I can, however I rarely have
sufficient time to even get a descent night's sleep.
As far as the software is concerned, IYP is rock solid. There are well over
10,000 pilots still using IYP on a regualr basis. If there's a problem, it is
(without doubt) an installation problem. I have not altered the code since
mid-June 2105, simply because there has been no need to do so.
The system works extremely well with the Steam version of FSX and there are no
problems with IYP working on Windows 10.
I hope this clarifies the situation.
Regards,
Robert
PS. Glad to see you're getting back into flying.

Hello have a missed something. What is this new flight system?

Nothing much new here. IYP is apparently not being supported or developed
any longer. So, whatever problems you may run into, you may or may not get
helped with. Before Robert can say anything, I have the e-mail Ron forwarded
to me stating as such. I have upgraded to an all CH Products Flight Control
system, and it has worked out well so far.

Hi All,
I’m Zack Kline, and I was very much into flight sim around 2009 or so, back
when IYP and friends were relatively new. I had a fairly extensive collection
of add-ons, including AI traffic, sundry ATC software, and other bits and
bobs I’ve since forgotten.
It’s been years since I've played with any of this stuff, but I've recently
been bitten by the bug again. I had to buy the Steam edition of FSX, which is
mostly usable even though Steam itself sucks.
I just wanted to write and say hi, and see if there has been any interesting
development of late. My last version of IYP seems to have been early 4.x, and
the change log from then to now is fairly staggering.
I have been running into more trouble than I expected getting things
initially set up, primarily because I don’t have a decent microphone
on my Windows 10 computer. But I’ve ordered one off Amazon, and it
should be here soon:-)
Hope all’s well, and to hear back from fellow pilots sometime soon.
Best,
