Jordan,
There are relatively new GPS functions in IYP 5.x. If you bring up the GPS
window, you can say, “Michelle, let’s fly direct to
<vor/intersection/airtport>, and give the identifier code. Note that I’ve had
some trouble with these, and they don’t alway seem to work consistently, but
this is what you should presumably be doing when you get a “direct,” clearance.
Of course, if your plan already has the waypoint listed, you can probably just
“resume GPS navigation.”
Best,
Zack.

I am currently doing a flight from Edwards AFB over to Flagstaff, and while
on the departure leg, Radar Contact instructed me to fly direct to waypoint
HEC. Is there a way to fly direct to a waypoint with IYP, or at that point
should I say Resume GPS Navigation? Please advise.
Thanks,
Jordan
