[Bristol-Birds] postal swallows

If you happen to be by the post office on North State of
Franklin, in Johnson City, you might take a look at where
the barn swallows are nesting at the back of the building.
They've planted themselves in a corner of an alcove that
looks like should have too much human traffic for their
liking. You can see this from the parking lot.

While we were watching them the other evening several flew
in to the alcove, only to find, I suppose, the entrance to
the nest busy and proceeded to perch on the concrete block
face--not on the edge at the mortar. I was surprised at this
as those blocks are very smooth.
