Don (and others), There are two yahoo groups set up that are good sources of information on bird photography. The first is "birds-pix" with a membership of over 2500 is a group which shares bird photos and discussions of some of the techniques involved in bird photography. Although the group is hosted on yahoo and the messages are there, to see the photos you have to have your subscription set up for email delivery as yahoo will no longer archive the photos due to space requirements. A sister group called "digiscopingbirds" with around 2700 members and founded by the "father of digiscoping" Laurence Poh, is a group dedicated to discussing the technique of taking photos of birds with a digital camera through a spotting scope. This is an excellent resource discussing different scopes, cameras, adapters, settings, etc... This one is primarily text discussion with a few attached photos so can for the most part be read on the web at yahoo without having to receive any emails. Both can be found at groups.yahoo.com. One more is at www.birdforum.net and has so many aspects and sources of information that I couldn't even begin to describe it so just take a look at the web site. Among other things there is a massive gallery of user contributed bird photos from all over the world hosted on the site so you can look at them without getting a bunch of emails. Most contributors "downrez" their photos (as Don has been doing) to make the photos less of a pain for people with dialup connections. I have a gallery here under the name "bluedubius". Hope it's useful information. Rick Rick Phillips Kingsport, Tennessee
