This morning I had a couple rose-breasted grosbeaks at my feeders and this
afternoon a young male scarlet tanager was sneaking around in my spruce tree
(pictures attached).

Late morning, Eric and I hiked part of the pinnacle trail in Unicoi and as
we were almost back to the parking area we hit a little hot spot that
included a few downy and red-bellied woodpeckers , several blue-headed
vireos, chickadees and titmice, several red-breasted and white-breasted
nuthatches , a carolina wren, a golden-cr. kinglet, a hood warbler, a
redstart and a black-throated blue warbler. It was after 11 am and the
trail was pretty much dead until then. You just never know.
