Subject: Woodcocks
Woodcocks have been active at our farm for about a week or so. They should
continue to do their display calls and flights for another couple weeks. Due to
family medical reasons I have not been home in the early evenings lately so I
haven’t been out to actually watch the birds. I hear them every morning and
most nights. There are at least three I can hear from the house. The best time
to listen and have a shot at seeing them is between 6:30 and 7:00 pm. I have
arranged to be home Thursday evening, March 11, and can have visitors at that
time.
