Area Birders,
Yesterday, 5 members of the Buchanan County Bird Club searched the Breaks Park
for returning migrants. We found 7 Black-throated Green Warblers, 4
Yellow-throated Warblers, 3 Pine Warblers, 7 Blue-headed Vireos and 1 Tree
Swallow. A resident Red-shouldered Hawk made a fly-by and two colorful
Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers fed along one of the trails. A Black Vulture was
found circling with some Turkey Vultures. This is not a common species for the
area. Pileated, Flicker, Downy and Red-bellieds were the woodpeckers found.
Those birding were Don, Dawn and Christian Carrier and Roger and Lynda Mayhorn

I heard the first Yellow-throated Warbler here in the backyard this morning.
