Lisa Tyler, Michele Sparks and I went birding around South Holston Lake from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm Sunday afternoon (10/26). Here is a cumulative list of what we sighted or heard: *At the Weir Dam* Wood Duck - 3 Mallard - 30 Great Blue Heron - 1 Canada Goose - 1 Sharp-shinned Hawk - 1 Broad-winged Hawk - 1 Turkey Vulture - 2 American Goldfinch - 1 (sound) Carolina Chickadee - 1 (sound) Cardinal - 1 Downy Woodpecker - 1 Northern Cardinal - 1 American Crow - 1 (sound) Rufous-sided Towhee - 2 (sound) Carolina Wren - 1 (sound) Blue Jay - 2+ (sound) Yellow-rumped Warbler - 1 *South Holston Dam* American Crow - 33 *Musick's Campground* Great Blue Heron - 1 American Crow - 7 Mallard - 1 Grebes - 4 (Very distant - could not differentiate species without scope; likely Pied-billed?)
