Tess Cumbie, Gil Derouen, Reece Jamerson and Bryan Stevens birded Tuesday afternoon at Quarry Bog in Shady Valley in Johnson County.

We didn't detect either of the bitterns seen recently.

We did hear three different Soras and two Virginia Rails.

We also saw a Marsh Wren, a flyover Bobolink, American Kestrel, Turkey Vulture, two Common Yellowthroats, two Swamp Sparrows, several Song Sparrows and many Red-winged Blackbirds.

Bryan Stevens,
Hampton, TN
