I had three Rose-breasted Grosbeaks (male and two females) in a tree in the backyard at home in Hampton, Carter Co., TN on Wednesday, April 25.
Singing warblers on a daily basis now include Ovenbird, Hooded Warbler, Northern Parula and Chestnut-sided Warbler. A few other sightings yesterday evening included a Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Ruby-throated Hummingbird and Broad-winged Hawk.
Nest boxes in use: Tree Swallow (1 pair), Eastern Bluebird (1 pair) and Carolina Chickadees (2 pairs).
Perhaps not all that amazing, but my mother saw a Canada Goose fly over yesterday. I mention it because we generally seem off-the-beaten-path for Canada Geese. The goose did not stop at the pond.
