Fellow Birders, Yesterday, Thursday, as I was doing some work around my yard pond I heard slight sound and looked up to find myself eye to eye with a Red-breasted Nuthatch only 10 feet away. The bird was sitting on the trunk of a White Birch tree. I froze in place, and after about 15 seconds the bird flew down to the water's edge and began to drink, while it kept an eye on me. It then flew into the woods at the edge of the yard. Maybe I'll be lucky enough to have this bird visit my feeders during the winter. Enjoy the birds, Roger Mayhorn Grundy, VA Buchanan County ************************************************* BRISTOL BIRDS NET LIST Bristol Birds Net Photo Gallery located at: http://f2.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/jwcoffeyy/album?.dir=/efd5 This is a regional birding list sponsored by the Bristol Bird Club to facilitate communications between birders and bird clubs of Southwest Virginia and Northeast Tennessee. -------------------------------------------------- You are subscribed to Bristol-Birds.
