Rankin Bottoms, Cocke county, 5/4/12, 4-7 PM, by canoe
Douglas Lake elevation: 988.2 ft.
Shorebird habitat & numbers diminishing, no gulls or terns, few teal; the usual
summer residents settling in. Two cattle Egrets, only one in breeding plumage,
were roosting with the Great Egrets.
