Bristol Birders, I saw a Lawrence's Warbler yesterday while birding at Caney Branch near my home in Buchanan County. It was a thrill to add this bird to my life list. I was actually searching for a Blue-winged Warbler which I still need for my life list. I have been looking for the Blue-winged since I first started birding about a year ago. As a matter of fact, I have logged a Brewster's Warbler, a Golden-winged, and the Lawrence's Warbler, while the more common Blue-winged remains elusive. Oh well, I'm certainly not complaining. The Lawrence's Warbler was singing a combined song of the Blue and Golden-winged. Other highlights of my hike included great looks at a Black-throated Green Warbler and a Wood Thrush singing beautifully from a short distance away.
