As part of the Andre Michaux Day celebration at the Tipton Haynes Historic
Site, Bryan Stevens of the Herndon Bird Club will lead a BIRDING FIELD TRIP on
the Tipton Haynes grounds. The Andre Michaux Day celebration is this Saturday,
March 31. The field trip will begin at 8:00 a.m. from the parking lot. The
Tipton Haynes Historic Site is in Johnson City on South Roan St. south of Food
City. If you are coming down S. Roan St. from the north, the turn-out to
Tipton Haynes is on the right and is clearly marked. Coffee, juice, and
muffins will be available for those who arrive early for the Bird Walk. All
are invited.

The REGULAR APRIL MEETING of the Herndon Chapter will begin at 7:00 p.m.
Tuesday, April 3. The meeting will be held at the Science Building (first
floor, first room on the right) at Milligan College in Elizabethton. Agenda
items include planning of the club Spring Bird count, information about the
Roan Mountain Spring Naturalist Rally, and information about the joint TOS/VSO
meeting to be run by the Bristol Bird Club at the Holiday Inn and Conference
Center in Johnson City Friday through Sunday, May 18-20.

The meeting presentation will be given by Dianne Draper and Don Holt, who will
discuss birding done on random travels to Ohio and Michigan.

Prior to the meeting, some members will meet at Bellacino's Italian Restaurant
on South Roan St. (Food City Parking Lot) in Johnson City around 5:30 p.m. to
eat and socialize before the meeting. All are invited and welcome to the
meeting and to Bellacino's.

If you have any questions about the Andre Michaux Day field trip or the
meeting, please feel free to call me or send email. Thank you.
