Yesterday evening was a pretty good time for birds in Kingsport. It began about 5 p.m. with a Commom Nighthawk over Church Circle, then at about 8:30 p.m. I had a Willow Flycatcher calling "fitz-bew" by our pond. About ten minutes later I could hear what seemed to be a Hermit Thrush (definitely a thrush voice) singing "feedlah," in our woods, over and over at 3 or 4 second intervals. A Great Horned Owl was calling in the edge of that same woods three nights ago. John Moyle Glen Alpine Road Kingsport Sullivan County
