The Bristol Bird Club field trip to Rankin Bottoms on Saturday, Aug 28, has
been postponed.
The water level there is still too high, having risen some due to recent heavy
rains.
We will try again on next Saturday, Sep 4.

Instead, this Saturday, the 28th, we will have a field trip to the Phipps Bend
ponds. While the
spoonbill apparently has departed, there should still be some herons & egrets
to see, and
maybe an ibis or shorebirds. If nothing else, it can be an introduction to the
site for those who
have not been there before.

This will require a walk of 2 miles round trip, but on a flat gravel roadway.
Bring water & a snack.

Time: 8:00 am

Meeting place: In Kingsport, at theMeadowview Convention Center, at parking
lot near entrance.
This is just off I-26. From there it is about a 40 minute drive. For anyone
wishing to car-pool, we
will need to leave cars elsewhere.
