From the description, it sounds like a Red-tailed Hawk'd nest built in
recent weeks.  You might want to check the public library for a book title:
"World of the Red-tailed Hawk" by Ronald Austing.  See if they have Arthur
Cleveland Bent's "Life Histories of North American Birds of Prey."  I am
fairly sure those are at the Bristol Public Library.  Since they are moving
into the new library you might have to wait a few days.  Otherwise search
online.
