Andy Jones, who grew up with area birders while living at Kingsport, has
been nominated for the office of Secretary of the American Ornithologists'
Union.

The nominating committee's slate will be voted on at the Annual meeting of
the American Ornithologists' Union (132nd Stated Meeting), the Cooper
Ornithological Society (84th Stated Meeting), and the Society of Canadian
Ornithologists in late September in Colorado.

He has served the society as a recording secretary for several years.

Many of you will remember Andy as an evening speaker at the joint state
meeting of the Tennessee Ornithological Society and Virginia Society of
Ornithology recently held in Johnson City.

He is curator of birds and the director of science at the Cleveland Museum
of Natural History at Cleveland, OH.
