Hi. Another discovery I made with the Apex. Are you down a usb port because one of your ports is broken? Or do you for some reason need to hook more then 3 usb devices to your Apex? Well, powered usb hubs work with the Apex. However, there is a trick to making it work. You can't just start plugging devices in in any order. Doing things in the wrong order will just result in a device not recognised message. So, first, plug the hub into power. Second, plug all the devices you need to into the hub. Third, plug the hub into 1 of the usb ports on the Apex. Then wait a few seconds and the Apex should see all the devices hooked up to the hub. I ended up getting this hub in the first place, because I have an external hard drive that I use with the Apex, however, it used to have one cord for data and some power and one for extra power because some usb ports do not have enough power to make the hard drive run off just 1 port, so it has to take power from 2 ports. When it was hooked up to my computer, the 1 cord was able to provide enough power to run the drive, but when it was hooked up to the Apex, 1 port was not enough. This was fine. I would just plug the data cord into 1 port and the extra power cord into another port. Then 1 day, the plug inside the hard drive for the extra power cord fell apart and broke off, meaning I could no longer use the drive with devices that could not provide enough power from 1 port. So even though I thought it would not work, I got the powered usb hub and hooked the 1 remaining hard drive cord to the hub and hooked the hub to the Apex and to my surprise, the Apex saw the drive again.
