No, it will never break. This is an indicator to show that someone replied. You can turn it off if you want. To do this, go into general settings. Then, it's action when a message arrives while chatting. It's flash display, sound notification, or no notification. So, I, personally, have it set to no notification. But if you don't want the braille display moving everywhere, that's how you fix it.

Easy solution; you don't.  It shows when the other person you're
chatting with is typing.  So unless you want to break the unit,
it would probably be a better idea to just leave it.
