Hello Jessica, You need to run the network setup on your xp computer. You can find it in the control panel. Make sure of the network place name. By defalt it is usually the computers Windows login name, you can change it to something else if you would like. Anyway, you will need to enter the network place name on your Apex exactly how it is written. Caps or other symbols need to be the same. With the network setup the shared folder is the only folder that is shared. If you want other folders shared, such as My Documents or other folders you will need to manually share them. I just share My Documents on the network and then any folder that is inside My Documents is available. Also, when sharing folders, it will ask if you want to allow others to change or modify your files. If you answer no to this you will only be able to view. You will not be able to edit files or save files to your network folders with your Apex.
Ansering yes will allow you to do both.As far as your question about accessing files when away from home.
That isn't possible with the network. If you need any help or have more questions, just let me know. Sincerely, John

I connected my Apex and windows xp laptop up to the same wifi network and turned them both on. Then I tried to use my Apex to look at files on my computer. It failed. It kept saying stuff like the network resource is not available and the domain name isincorrect or off line or something. I don't remember exactly
what
the messages were, but they were something like that. Why did it not work? Also, what is a domain name, network place, and network server, which were all terms the Apex kept referring to while I was trying to access the files on my computer. Thank you.
