Hi Mike, thanks for the description you have done really well. I will be keeping this message so when I come to setting it up on my computer I can follow your steps. Thanks for passing the instructions to the list. Hello fellow Braillenote users! I think I've finally figured out how to get Mobile Device Center to work with our braillenotes. Here's what I did: 1. Plugged the usb cable into a port on the computer and plugged the other end into the bn. 2. Opened Windows Mobile Device Center. 3. On the main screen of the program, you'll see two buttons: A. help and about B. a button that's not labeled If you press spacebar or enter on the unlabeled button, you'll get a dialog of options. There are four of them. The first three have to do with cyncing your outlook calander, outlook contacts, and I think addressbook. The fourth one on the list talks about cyncing files between your device and the pc. Arrow down to this option and then tab to the next button and press it. Next 4. You'll be asked for the name of the folder you want WMDC to create and place on your computer. By default, they call it xxxx xxxx's device, where xxxx xxxx, is your first and last name, followed by device. For me, mine is called Mike Bernard's device. From what I can tell, this is just like the old Mobile device folder that ActiveCync used to create for us in Windows xp. Once you've done this, the next time you plug your braillenote into the computer, Just go to your computer's C drive, or in my case, (this pc), and there at the bottom of the list, or whereever your computer decides to put it, you'll see a folder with your first and last name, or whatever name you gave it, followed by the word device. Press enter on that folder, and there, you'll see all the folders and drives of the bn. I've found, that with WMDC, you don't even have to run the software in order to view the drives and folders on the bn like we had to do in ActiveCync. Just plug the usb cable in to the pc, go to your C drive, (if using windows xp, computer if using windows 7 or this pc if using windows 8.1 locate the folder with your name and/or whatever name you gave it, press enter on that folder name and off you go. I just decided to give WMDC another try this afternoon, and I guess somehow, someway, I got it to work. How to get your contacts, addressbook and calander to work with the software, is another chapter, but I don't use those features in outlook anyway. If you do, you can play around with it to see what you get. To read about the program and get help, launch the program, tab until you hear "help and about" and press enter. This should open in your pc's default browser and take you to a help page.I hope that this makes some sense to all of you. I wish I could've been more accurate, but now that I've gone through all the steps, I can't bring up and read the dialogs again.
