When you record from the media menu, it should autimatically attatch the wav extention. You don't need to add anything to your Apex.

Thank you Jesica for the good information.  Perhaps I must have
got the file name wrong.  So its not the MP3 file that works in
terms of recording instruments? Do I have to use any connecting
cables such as from my mksical keyboard to the Apex? Thank you.
