Hi Andy,

I don't know about navigating from a sub-directory to another sub-directory within the first one but here's how to get to a sub-directory. 1. Go to the KW Menu 2. Select Open a Folder 3. BEFORE OPENING FOLDER press Space with dots 1256. This will bring up the Open Sub-Directory prompt 4. Press Enter to get to the Sub-Directory Name prompt 5. Select the sub-directory you want. Hope this helps.

Shalom,

Subject: [BNU] "Hidden files" or timething more general

Hi, listers,

Occasionally when I've downloaded something-this has happened
specifically with some files from Blindy TV and some product
manuals-the usual prompts apply, but later I can't find anything
in Downloads, neither in the normal folder and file-list display,
including "hidden files", or as a directory with sub-directories.
However: very occasionally while trying to download things,
instead of the normal "folder to download to? downloads" prompt,
the Apex will refer me to the directory "prgram files", and the
drive, when you back up one level, is just this symbol: out
I think that is some kind of root directory, more basic than the
Flash, or a hidden part? And when I first joined this list, some
folks told me how to get to a Windows directory or folder? It
worked, but I didn't write it down and have forgotten? Are these
things related? I would like to get to these "program files"
because I think some of these mysterious "downloads" are going
there, and I'd like to confirm this and, probably, delete them
just to keep everything uncluttered and running smoothly.
(Copying and reformatting my Flash and a related card, as some of
you suggested, followed by basic maintenance, nicely removed
those odd rels folders and files I had, and nothing more has
cropped up, so I'd like to keep it that way.)

One more question (I often have many, yes): my wife and a friend
have an ongoing issue with book-reading on the Apex. Frequently
while they read (sometimes several times a day), they'll exit a
bok and return to find themselves a long way from where they
left-usually further back, but not at the start, in case you were
thinking that they must be unintentionally going to "top of
file." The same thing has happened to both of them more than once
when they just try to rout the cursor button to some point on the
same line they're reading, or from a simple Back or Advance
thumb-key press, which should just move things forward or back
one display width. We can't find a pattern as to why this
happens or how far the displacement in the text is; and it never
happens to me, although I read more than either of them, so they
must be doing something I'm not, but don't know what. Has anyone
experienced this, so I can advise these frustrated readers what
to avoid to prevent this?

Thanks to all of you for all of the good help you give.

Andy Shields
