The way I had to make my math assignments and/or tests readable to a sighted teacher was to type it on a manual typewriter. I never asked my VI teacher to transcribe anything.
It seems to me that a qwerty Apex user should be able to use their qwerty keyboard on the Apex to write math. They might need to use Unicode characters for some of the symbols, but wouldn't that be ok?
It's been years since I've needed to write math for a sighted teacher, (grin.)

The first snapshot video includes a step by step demonstration on how to create a Nemeth document using the Nemeth code. After having an understanding of how math assignments will be written using the BrailleNote Apex's word processor, how can students turn in a readable version for the classroom teacher? In the past, students would need to type out assignments on a braille writer and ask VI teachers to transcribe the print on top of the braille copy.We are happy to say that this process will be a thing of the past! Click on the video below to view an example of how to use the BrailleNote Apex to independently write math assignments in Nemeth Braille, print them directly to a print printer, or send them to your classroom teacher via email as a Microsoft Word document. KeySoft 9.4 will be a completely free upgrade coming to your BrailleNote Apex this fall 2013.
