[BNU] An e-mail access question

Hi, listers,

I've finally set up a home e-mail address, partly to have a more logical place
for all of this list traffic which isn't work-related. I can send test messages
from the new account to other e-mail addresses, but can't access incoming
messages from the Apex. There were some steps in registering with my provider
and getting the proper parameters for the server ports that I had to chedck and
correct; I've done so, and a test message from the provider was successfully
sent to my new e-mail address. I also sent one from my work e-mail that didn't
get flagged as "undeliverable", unlike before-so I know that they're going to
that address. Every attempt to check for new mail in the Inbox with the Apex
itself gives the message: "error connecting to pop server: error 10061." Have
any of you run into this, or is it specific to my provider (I don't think so,
or test messages would still not be going there.) It seems to be something very
specific to the Apex itself; is there some basic thing I'm not doing to get to
incoming mail?

Andy
