The ones I've looked at were not ready to print and did nothing with math and 
science notation.

Keep in mind that APH uses the BANA standards for braille textbooks and there 
are a lot of specific details about how a finished book should look. 

You're right, for quick and dirty literary braille the Bookshare files are OK, 
especially if you are just reading it on a display. Of course, if you're just 
reading it on a display it probably works better to just use the DAISY file and 
let your screen reader translate on the fly.

I did get a Bookshare brf file of a novel. It looks ok except that it doesn't 
contain some headings that my dtbok.sem and preferences.cfg specify. It also 
contains all upper-case letters, which is annoying on my braille display.
