John,

Yes, window-Eyes sees it as a combobox too but there are no items. You can
even expand it with the Alt-Down arrow keystroke, but there is still nothing
there. Is there an OK button in the dialog? I would think there should be.
Tabbing doesn't do anything, though. I will ask my wife to watch what is
happening visually.

I don't know why there is an accessibility problem with the recent 
documents feature. Jaws says it is a combo box, but can't find any 
content.

The NullPointerException will be fixed. I'm mostly concerned about 
accessibility.
