The files for building liblouisutdml with msvc are almost ready. The build proceds untilit tryie to create liblouisutdml.dll I had downloaded the tarball for libxml2 and used the Makefile.msvc file in the win32 subdirectory to create a dll. Then the linker trries to read this dll it discovers that it is invalid. Makefile.msvc was written in 2002 and even contains a reference to Windows 98 which caused a syntax error. After I removed it, the file produced a dll, gut it seemed too small. I now think that Makefile.msvc is obsolete. I've looked into using the same technique that I used to create the liblouisutdml build file, but libxml2 is much more complicated. I tried subscribing to the libxml2 mailing list. It sent me a confirmation message, but it rejects my reply. I wonder about them. A 32-bit libxml2 dll is available, but I don't know how far it can be trusted with contemporary Windows. Any suggestions will be appreciated. John -- John J.
