Hello everyone

Thanks for your introduction, Joseph. Especially as you
seem to have connections with the people back in Korea and
not forgetting your vocational background, I will be glad to
put questions to you.

I am based in the UK where a growing number of Braille and
Voice Sense machines are being sold. However, we don't at
the moment have a local e-mail list to support users. Users
sharing information is crucial.

There is a problem for people in Europe using Braille Sense
and Voice Sense which concerns paper size for printing
documents. I think in the USA the standard size for
printing documents is "letter". In Europe (including the
UK), the standard paper size is A4 which is about 11.5
inches long by about 8.7 inches wide. Currently, Braille
Sense does not support this size, even though it has been on
the request list to the manufacturer for some time. So
could you mention it to your mates in Korea?

I'm using a BS 32 Plus and would like to link to my PC using
Activesync but have not been able to get both devices
talking to each other. I've got XP Home with MS Service
Pack 3 installed and I am using Jaws 8x. I'm looking back
at BS manuals but there doesn't seem to be much from the
Microsoft side. I would like to hear how well others have
got on.

Subject: [braille-sense] Introduction...

Hi folks, GW Micro and users of Braille Sense family,
Just joined and would like to introduce myself. Some people
have
already seen me on other lists; so for people who don't know

me...
My name is Joseph Lee, a sophomore computer science student
at
University of California, Riverside. I heard about Braille
Sense
from several friends in Korea, and had a chance to try it
out
several years ago (the Korean version of the product,
Braille
Hansone (pronounced "Han-Soh-Nae")). Being a user of
another
similar device, and since Braille Sense is based on an
operating
system that is familiar to many of us - Windows CE, I hope
to be
able to give you useful technical information and learn
quite a
few tips so that I can pass it on to my friends and maybe to
keep
it for records.
Some of my specialities include:
* Braille Sense hardware specs and limitations, particularly

battery, processor and memory, and few braille display
specs.
* Windows CE operating systems, particularly memory area
such as
virtual memory, hardware limitations, etc.
And other general computer things that apply to Braille
Sense.
I hope my posts would be useful for this list - for using
Braille
Sense, including Braille Sense Plus, QWERTY, etc.
Sincerely,
Joseph Lee
