Hi all
Novels can teach as well as being entertaining. A well researched historical
novel can bring historical facts to life while providing entertainment. John
Jakes, for example, is a professional historian. He does his best to stick as
close to historical facts as he can. Doctors who write medical thrillers and
lawyers who write legal thrillers probably have some accuratte facts as it
pertains to their profession. e.g. How a court session is conducted. Their
was a discription of which side of the courtroom the defense and prosecution
sit in a novel I read (can't remember which one).
I learn a great deal from novels.
Rita
