We may not be able to access the newest of the uploads in bookshare, but we can access most of the collection by going to
http://static.legacy.bookshare.orgAt least we need not be deprived of reading something not in our collections, while we wait for Humanware and whomever to get their acts together.
Hope this helps. Ann told me about that site about a week ago. Thank goodness she did. I'm using an MPower, and it works as well as it always did on that site.

Hi guys,
The HumanWare products can't as yet unzip books from the new
site.
I heard there's an upgrade coming some time next month for you
guys from
them.

I have yet to be able to successfully unpack a book from the new
site.
I use both a braille note empower and a victor stream.

Hello,
I'm a new member so forgive me writing under this subject but it
all falls
into problems with the new site I guess.
I'm having all kinds of trouble at this point. I must say, I
have an older
BrailleNote which until now, has worked great. Now, when I copy
the files I
can't read them and the older books I haven't read yet I'm
getting a dialog
of "invalid password" and I know the password is correct as it's
accepted
when I log into Bookshare.
The second problem is I just purchased a Victor Reader and when i
download
books, I can get them on the card in the card reader but when I
insert the
card into the player it doesn't locate the file at all. I'm sure
it's
something I'm doing wrong but can't figure out what.
I'd be so grateful if someone can help me get back to reading
again. I'm
going crazy.
Thanks for the list and I hope someday I will be able to help
someone else
out as well.

Carrie,
I have had the same problem. I was wondering if anyone else did or if people just thought no books have been added.
I think Carrie has sent a request to engineering. I just now checked, and two books have been added, one a NIMAC and one from Lindsie at the office. I'm wondering now if the books Carrie approves follow a different route and that's where the connection is falling down. The first couple of days the new site was up there was no problem, but since the 18th there has been. She and I are in communication because I copy that list and edit it for the lists I send out, so she tells me when she's finished approving so I know when I can stop checking. A couple of nights ago the last book she approved never showed up on the list until after midnight and was listed as book one for the new day. Since that time, as you noticed, Courtney, only old lists have appeared. I'm glad you wrote to support. I did, too.

Hi all,
Every time I attempt to browse new books, I am encountering an error. I click on browse and then new books. However, the most recent books that are shown were downloaded on the sixteenth or seventeenth at the latest. I know there have been books downloaded more recently, because when I browse by category or by individual submitter/proofreader pages, they appear. I did e-mail support about this, though I haven't yet received a response. Is anyone else having this problem, and if so, are there any work arounds other than the ones I mentioned above?
