Your best source likely would be an Open Book oriented list where folks
can share what has and hasn't worked for them.
Beyond that, as Julie has already mentioned, it is experimenting, trial
and error and seeing what will and will not work for Open Book and your
particular scanner.
You'll get the hang of it quicker than you might believe; I know it was
for me.
Note, however, as Julie has also said, it is a continual learning process.
