I do hat too and the only time I stop is to fix an error or rescan a page if it didn't get held down firmly.

Hello Maithe:
It does not turn pages. You must turn pages and flip the book if you are doing single page scans, which is what I do. The scanner is fast. It scans a page in about 5 seconds, takes about 2 seconds to return ready for next scan. I find that while the scanner is returning to start position this gives me time to flip the book or turn the page. So there isn't a lot of lost time when doing the scans. I find that I can scan 350 page book in about an hour.

Hi!

I have a question about this scanner...what is the big difference between
this one and other scanners? I know the scan is better, but is it really
faster? I was reading about it and it said something about being able to
turn the pages without having to move it? Maybe I misunderstood. What is
the real difference that you have found?

I bought it on Amazon for about $230 before tax and shipping. It was
definitely an expensive purchase, but well worth it. It's pretty quick on
the scans. Ten seconds or less a scan .

Where did you purchase your Opticbook, and if you don't mind my asking,
how
much did it cost?

Also, how fast does it scan?
Thanks,
Brian Miller

Hi list,
This is just a quick note to let you all know that I just installed
the
software for my new Opticbook 3600. I am happy to announce that it works
very well with Kurzweil 1000 version 7, and I'm getting practically
perfect
scans. I didn't check to see if Sula, by Tony Morrison, was in the
collection, but the only thing it had trouble with was the cover of the
book. The actual pages of the book were perfect. It should also be noted
that this is with default Kurzweil settings. This is one of the best
purchases I ever made, even if it was on the pricey side. Well, with all
the
books I am going to scan, it's going to pay for my Bookshare membership
dues
for at least a few years.
