Well, you are right about the mountains here in the east. When my family moved to Kentucky 20 years ago we were shocked to hear people call these mountains. To us moving here from Arizona and after living in Utah all they have here are mole hills. ;-))

Maybe they can't move that much water from the eastern US to the western US because it would throw the earth off balance. Hmmm, sounds like a SciFi title huh? ;-))

Take care.

Tunnels? underground covered canals?

Or make it sectional. From the eastern midwest to the
further midwest, from flood plains to drout areas.

But you're right about the mountains. Although, when
we took the train from California to Washington D.C. a
few years ago and crossed the beautiful Alleghanies--I
don't remember if we went through any Appalacians, my
husband, used to the Rockies, scoffed at the idea that
those were called mountains--mere hills compared to
the Rockies. smile

Hi Cindy,

I'm not Shelley but...

The problem is that the rain you are talking about
is on the other side of a
rather high and long range of mountains from where
you are. It is terribly
expensive to pump water up those mountains to get it
to your side.

Also, if hyou read closely the Romans moved water by
gravity aoong canals
and aquaducts. They were plagued with the same
problems we are.

Sure wish someone would figure out how to get over
that gravity thing.
