Tat newsletter we just received reminded me of memos we used to get from the administration when I was working. What a great impression we are trying to make! In this newsletter we address all the issues except for those which are important to members and volunteers. Where are those New York Times bestsellers that were supposedly "coming soon"? How is our collection going to increase when no one is approving books that are languishing in the admin queue? Where is the letter (not propaganda) that would address issues to help those on these lists who are trying to cope with the problems we have? What is this alternative media person doing?? She is not helping US with the problems we encounter. I do not care how this message is received. Sling all the mud you like. I am fed up and am seriously considering dropping my membership and volunteer rights. I have just about had it, and anyone who is very honest will admit that I am right in saying our problems with submission and validation are not being addressed. And please do not hand me that garbage about "resources". What about those of us who are giving our time and skills to submit and validate books? What about the free use of our equipment that is being GIVEN to bookshare.org? What about our sighted volunteers who get nothing as far as being able to read books that are on the site? They should at least have the reward of seeing their books approved by the administrative personnel. This message is written in anger, but that anger is justified. Come on! Get with it and get that admin queue taken care of. Sue S.
