Depending on the size of the book, it may have been scanned without two page scanning being turned on. Some of the abridged books I have seen on the site have "abridged" after the title. The only thing I can suggest to you is download it, and explore the file, if it looks complete than great. If it isn't, then it is something that Admin and the volunteers need to know. We have a website of books that need a rescan. And or books that get rejected. Here is the website, and the email address. If you come across books that definitely need help... send Rui, a message with the title and author, and we will see what we can do. booksharescans@xxxxxxx And the website is: http://members.cox.net/booksharescans/ Shelley L. I found Boswell's life of Johnson, but when I looked at the info, it had only 538 pages. That's about half that book. One of the small fears I have about downloading books is that I'll run across something that someone has decided I only need to read parts of. I'd appreciate any suggestions as to how to avoid that trap! So much of it is abridged. Take care. Julie Morales Children are fragile. I wanted to read the full length version of a particular book so I got it from Bookshare. It came out on tape a couple of months later, but it was the cut version, so I got to read the full version and I didn't have to wait. And of course there are those books, far the majority, that never make it to tape or braille. Someone told me about a book that had to do with a discussion we were having and I found that book on Bookshare. I've never run across it anywhere else.
