Omnibus implies to me that it is a long book. That may not be the case, but if it is you might have chosen a shorter one to experiment with. It takes long enough to convert as it is, but I would expect that a longer book would take even longer. When you submit your request for conversion I think the page you get telling you to wait is misleading. It says it will take a few moments. The one I tried out took about fifteen hours and it was a relatively short book. Once I got it properly loaded into my DTBM the machine told me that the playing time was over eight hours. That is short, as books go. Greg Kearney in Australia said his first try took over twenty-four hours to convert. To me a few moments implies that I may as well sit there and wait, not having time to go on to something else. Actually, those few moments tend to stretch into the next day if not longer.

Hi, I decided I'd try getting a book from Bookshare as an mp3 download.
I want to know how the book reads, so I decided to get a book I
proofread for Bookshare. I have the raw scan and the completed copy I
proofread so I'll let you know if I like the voice, etc. Regards, Kim
Friedman. P.S.: The book in question is an omnibus entitled Jack of
Kinrowan by Charles De Lint. It was a fun read to work on. K.
