Julia:

If the files play on the PC and you've tried to re-send the files,
then, unfortunately, the unit will need to come back for repair.

There will be no charge, since you just got it. If it can't be fixed,
then we will replace it. I'm very sorry for the inconvenience this
causes. To send it back, send it to:

American Printing House For The Blind
ATTN: Repair Department
1839 Frankfort Avenue
Louisville, KY 40206

Please include a note, stating it does not play MP3 files.

Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Sincerely,

This did occur to me. However, although the MP3s were a lot louder
than the speech, they were not distorted. It was only after a while
that this happened. I did try turning the volume down both on the
keypad and in the settings but to no avail. I tried a .wav file too and
this was also very distorted whistles and sounds, but the MP3s I would
say were more like white noise.

the

When I stopped the file, the white noise stopped.
