I doubt the firmware is corrupt in this situation. Those wishing to
reinstall their firmware for whatever reason can download and run the
following:

www.aph.org/tech/bpx_setup.exe

Of course, you need to be able to connect the Book Port for this to
work.

Hello Nolan. I'm pretty sure the "FS" in "FS panic" stands for
file system. I get this too on occasion when I press the 8 key,
especially
when I'm listening to an audio file, I'm more than half way through
that
file, and that file is near the end of a large directory. If you have
another flash card, with different material on it, I'd try playing
that,
and seeing if you still get the same behavior as you do now when you
try to
delete a file. It sounds like what might be going on is that the
messages
table in your internal flash might be slightly corrupt. If deleting
files
on multiple cards produces the same set of beeps and funny messages,
then
I'd try forcing a reinstall of the firmware to the bookport. You are
running V2.2, right? Perhaps APH could comment on the proper way to
force
a reload of the firmware to the Bookport. I can tell you howto do the
forced reload, but I don't think my instructions are the official way,
and
I'd like to see ApH offer some up before offering my own.

P.S. How old is your bookport?
-Brian
