Peter -

Take a look at the contents of the CF card using your PC CF reader/burner 
after you've moved a .txt file, for example, using the BP interface and note 
the file names and extensions. Yes, BP Transfer does massage the files. I 
have absolutely no problem with this aspect of things, given that the 
transfer is fast and in my case, at least, it really doesn't make a dime's 
worth of difference whether I'm transferring from the desktop to the BP or 
to a CF card.

Just out of curiosity, is there a technical reason for this? It would be =
much quicker to save large files to CF card without any intervening =
software. I have the impression that Book Port likes to transfer the files =
itself for indexing purposes....
