You might need to try transfer without the hub. Sometimes the Bookport won't work with a USB hub.

I have been without a computer for the past four days and have just now got things up and running as of today. I am unable to install the beta 28 firmware onto the flash card. Here's what is going on.
When I connect the book port to the u s b cable connected to a hub, I have heard two different things happen each separately. The first thing that happened is that I heard the high pitched sounds and Window-eyes 5.5 starting to speak the firmware update dialog and then stop without finishing anything. Within a few seconds the book port transfer dialog comes up with all of its buttons and no indication that the firmware even began to download to the book port.
Within a couple of minutes of sending this e-mail, I once again tried reconnecting the book port and now hear the sounds of the transfer software attempting to open and hear the words notes one and two and no selected items.
I reformatted the card and managed to get what I believe is the updated manual onto the card. That is for your information. How can I solve this problem?
