All;

I would like to suggest a protocol for replying to messages.

Many if not most of us include the original message when sending replies to the
list. Given that being a worldwide network and differing messaging schedules,
our threads are not sequential.

I'm often frustrated to read a reply to a message that is so cryptic as to be
of no assistance.

I'm asking that we all include the original message when replying. In OE, the
process is:

Open the Tools Menu;
Cursor down to Options:
Tab over to Send Tab;
Check the line: "INCLUDE MESSAGE IN REPLY"
Hit OK.

Another welcome accommodation would be for those users that have mail programs
that let you put those annoying ">" before each line in the original message
reply, plese set the send message settings so as to keep them from being
inserted in the original message.

I know that one solution to this situation is to (at least in JAWS) go into the
dictionary manager for your mail program and add the ">" sign in the original
word field and cursor down to sounds and set it to be silent when encountering
the ">". By only setting this in the mail program manager, the ">" sign will be
spoken in all your other programs.

Thanks,

      - russ.
