Shiver by Karen Robards. This mystery/romance is on BARD and Bookshare. Danny Panterro is an FBI agent working undercover. He is beaten and shot and stuffed in the trunk of a stolen BMW by drug ring thugs. After getting some information out of him the thugs need to confer with the boss and leave for a few minutes. Samantha Jones is a 23 year old single mother with a four year old son and a one woman one truck towing company. Her latest job is to find and repossess a bmw. Fortunately, it is a fairly new one, so there is no problem finding it, she need only zero in on it's GPS signal. She finds it, Hooks it up to the truck, does a quick check that all is secure, and notices that the trunk has popped open slightly. At that moment the thugs return, toss her into the trunk with the man, and take off driving the tow truck with BMW firmly attached. There is plenty of action, several chases, some double crossing and all sorts of other mayhem in this book. Unlike so many of Robards' books, there isn't much humor in it. It's violent yet still has some romance. A good mystery that kept me turning those virtual pages. Good reading. Rosemarie
