The human stain.
Philip Roth.

american trilogy book 3.

read by denis bootsikaris.

It is 1998, the year in which America is whipped into a frenzy of prurience by
the impeachment of a president. It is also the last year of professor Coleman
Silk's life, whose own tragic exposure is played out against the background of
the Clinton revelations..

my comments.

This is the third book in the american trilogy I do not know weather you need
to read the books in order as I have not read the other two in the series yet.
I read this one because it is for a book group I am attending tomorrow and we
will be talking about it. THis book is about the last year of colman silks
life, the story is told by the righter who's asked to right Silks life story.
Most people who know me probably know this is not the kind of book I would
read. However I found the plot interesting and the book asked a lot of
questions. Forinstance is it really possible to make yourself something your
not? Roth really did well when righting this book his plot is complex and asks
a lot of questions. Everything is revealed in stages and in slow motion making
you want more. I would recommend this book highly and I won't be hesitating as
much now on books I would not normally read as you don't know what you could be
missing out on. If you want a more detailed synopses of the book and have
access to audible or iTunes you will get a more detail description than the
fantastic fiction one. Great book giving it a five out of five.
