mode and maybe even try to have My daughter create me a complete new document

Daleen,
I had major trouble editing documents with the new office - 2013 when I
installed it for the first time - it is a new feuture from office that puts
all docs, sheets, ppt's etc in a protected mode.
You can first save it to your hard drive, then it will enable editing on saving
the file. Or you can go to the file menu, look for the info heading, enter on
this and enable editing.
It's sounds to me like this is your problem.

Is the window maximised?
Shouldn't really make a difference, but, still..?
And, if you can, double check which version of excel is running, and, are you
using the latest, 2016.4 version of NVDA?

Does this work consistently across all excel spreadsheets?
Ask since just opened a brand new one here on my windows 10 64 bit machine,
using excel 2010, and, NVDA, and, entered a value in A1, hit enter, and when
went back to it, it read it fine to me.
Also jumped to ZZ50 cell, entered a number in it, hit enter, and, then when
went back to it and hit f2, it edited fine.
In other words, are some of these excel workbooks/spreadsheets from
external sources, or something, and, are they thus protected, or something?
Sorry, but, I have very little experience with using excel as such, so,
can't help too much.

since there are guys there with lots of experience using excel, I think

My problem is that excel does not want to let me edit using the f2 in a cell.
I installed windows ten only this week so am very new to it.
It happens intermittently and sometimes it is only the last part of a spread
sheet.
Also sometimes it says line feed after I pressed the f2 and other times it says
nothing. It seems if I can then edit, but the voice won't speak while I am in
edit mode and moving around in the cell.
I have the same problem with a demo of jaws 18 and an older version of office
2007.
I really need to get this fixed. I use it to earn a little money.
