Cycle Challenge: The Lions Club of Wilro Park, now in its 30th year of
providing assistance to those in need, is currently organising its 18th annual
Wilro Lions Charity Cycle Race which will be taking place from the Tarlton
International Raceway on Sunday 18 September 2016. The Cycle Challenge will be
part of the 2017 Official Premier Seeding Series of the Cape Town Cycle Tour.
This allows cyclists who complete the WILRO LIONS CYCLE CHALLENGE to obtain
'preferential' seeding and start times when entering cycle events ie the 94.7/
Cape Town Cycle challenges. Your Company could also enter a team and
experience it first hand with your 'team company logos'. Entries can be done on
the 'Cycle Events' website.
Why our 'fundraiser'? 'UBUNTU' (Community needs): Funds raised from our Cycle
Challenge will be used to finance the numerous outreach projects we run ie
sponsoring of Guide Dogs/ Dogs for Autistic Children, sponsoring of spectacles/
hearing aids and daily feeding schemes. We sponsor bursaries for our less
fortunate youths in S.A. One big project for 2016 is the refurbishment of
Gateway Village (Differently-Abled community) in the Westrand. You are
welcome to add 'projects' you feel we could also add value to.
