young adult or so that would be willing to write or mail/communicate with his
Daughter and help her or give support? Someone that is also paralysed? See his
request below?
Christmas wishes to you all. This season is not a happy one for us this year. I
found out yesterday that my oldest daughter, Madison, is now paralyzed from
just above the waist down. She underwent a surgery on 19 December to have nerve
ablation on a nerve to one of her kidneys. On 20 December, she awoke to find
that she could not move her legs. Doctors discovered that she has a blood clot
in her spine, or as the doctors put it, she had a spinal stroke. I am
devastated at the news. She has been my light and my joy and my heart hurts so
bad for her right now. She is 18 years of age and has her whole life ahead of
her yet.
I would like for her to know that her life is not over with this
diagnosis, and that she can live a long happy life in this day and age without
the use of her legs. I am reaching out to my fellow brothers and sisters in the
armed forces, PMC's and wounded warrior projects that may know someone who is a
paralyzed veteran who can contact me and perhaps visit with my daughter and
build her up and give her hope for her future. She lives in Montana but will
be at University of Washington Medical Center in the next few days to undergo
more tests and a surgery to try to remove the clot. I am currently living and
working in China and I am not asking for financial aid, only moral support for
my daughter. I am doing what I can for her, but I have not walked the path she
is on now and cannot provide her with the right kind of advice, or tell her
what to expect since I know nothing about the experience of losing the use of
one’s legs, or how that would make someone feel.
If you know of anyone that can give some of their time to make a young
woman's life better please put them in contact with me. and i will pass it on.
