Hi Mike,
I have checked the "delete shows after.." checkbox in all of the podcasts
I download. It doesn't seem to work for any of them. I generally have to go
into the show folder and delete the oldies manually.
For recoeded streams, I either replace recordings, so it only keeps the
latest show, or do nothing, if I want to save a series. This always works.
Any ideas?

Hi Robin!
As this question has sat there for a couple of days without comment, I
thought I'd just jump in.
Hopefully, by now, you have solved things. If not, let me offer 2
observations which may shed some light:
(1) When setting up the option on a recording, make certain that you have
checked the checkbox related to deleting of recordings.
If you accidentally uncheck the box, your files won't be removed.
(2) Keep in mind that you have to establish deleting criteria for each
recording you create. It isn't, for obvious reasons, universal and the
default is to save your recordings.
Beyond that, this one stumps me as I have never read of this problem
previously and I have never experienced it myself.
