Create change at Network day (features Caroline Casey)

By DONAL O'REGAN

LIMERICK Business Week will be rounded off in style by Miriam O'Callaghan at
the Network Ireland National Conference on Friday October 5. Two of Miriam's
guests will be Renault kingpin Bill Cullen and the inspirational Caroline Casey
of The Aisling Foundation.

At the core of Network Ireland is the desire to provide a forum where women in
business and the Arts can exchange ideas and increase their business contacts
and encourage women to achieve more satisfying careers.

Gaye Moore, National President for Network Ireland, said the theme up for
discussion is "create change and be inspired".

"Four hundred delegates from Network Ireland's 11 branches will attend the
conference on Friday culminating in a black tie gala dinner to announce the
winners of Network Business Women of the Year Awards. A number of honours will
be given out. It's going to be a fantastic day and then we have the ball at
night," said Ms Moore.

Miriam O'Callaghan said she was delighted to support this event and said: "I am
pleased to be associated with this thoroughly inspiring organisation and I wish
the members every success with this very innovative business conference".

Indeed, the conference is the latest stop for Caroline Casey, an adventurer,
entrepreneur, and award winning business woman. She has circumnavigated the
world using 80 different forms of transport and even completed a 1,000 km solo
elephant back journey across India.

Ms Moore said that Caroline believes in making dreams a reality.

"She has never allowed the fact that she was born visually impaired hinder her
success or get in the way of her dreams. In fact her determination to "create
change" within her life has allowed Caroline inspire audiences worldwide with
stories of her adventures in overcoming challenges she can only see as a blurry
outline," said Ms Moore.

Her energy, drive and determination led her to set up The Aisling Foundation
and O2 Ability Awards - recognising those with disabilities in the Irish
workplace. Other speakers will be Padraic O Maille, Catherine McGeachy, Tricia
Murphy and Karen Belshaw and some tickets are still available for the
conference or the gala ball from Gaye Moore at 087 2766012.

This novel business event is sponsored by the Limerick City and County
Enterprise Boards, Magnet Business, VHI Healthcare, Ulster Bank, Oceanico Group
and Keanes Jewellers.
